Gerard Levenstein was an infant when his
parents, Louis and Helena opened a dry goods store in 1908. The Levenstein's
operation has undergone many changes since then. It has grown from a single
dry goods store to three retail outlets in the middle part of the century
to two, sizeable floor covering outlets today.
Gerald Levenstein has been around for all of it.
He says the changes in the retail industry
since the turn of the century are too numerous to count and too difficult
too quantify. But as he says they have been uniformly
good.
In 1997, having no survivors to pass the
business along to, he sold the business to Randy Domingo who Gerald befriended
years earlier.
